About the trip
This week-long small-group tour from Explore Worldwide sets its base in Bomerano, a quiet village perched 650 metres above sea level, offering a slower pace and local life. From there, the itinerary unfolds with visits to the narrow alleys and cathedral of Amalfi, then on foot to Atrani's relaxed seafront.
The route includes ferry crossings to Capri, where a steep walk or funicular leads to a hilltop villa with panoramic views, and a day retracing Roman history in the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The schedule balances activity with downtime, including a hands-on cooking class in Bomerano focused on mozzarella and pasta, and a coastal trail through lemon groves en route to Maiori and Minori, where limoncello tasting is on offer.
The final day visits Ravello, famed for its gardens and music festivals, with time to wander piazzas and visit villas overlooking the sea. Throughout, the tour slips between coastal towns and mountain villages, with a few steep climbs and plenty of quiet moments. Transfers to and from Naples airport are included but need some coordination.
