Canada & the Rocky Mountaineer

This escorted tour by Just You begins in Calgary before heading into the Canadian Rockies, with stops at Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. At Lake Louise, the glacier-fed lake’s intense green hue catches the eye, surrounded by peaks that seem to stretch for miles. Travelling the Icefields Parkway, you pass mountains towering over 11,000 feet and pause by the Columbia Icefield for a look at the Athabasca Glacier.

Two days are spent aboard the Rocky Mountaineer train, moving from Jasper to Kamloops and onward to Vancouver. Along the way, expect views of Mount Robson – the Rockies’ highest peak – and the Pyramid Falls cascading from a hanging valley. The ride also passes Hell's Gate, where the Fraser River squeezes through a narrow gorge, an abrupt contrast to moments earlier in open river valleys.

In Vancouver, the tour takes in Chinatown, Stanley Park’s totem poles and Granville Island’s market. Two days at leisure allow optional excursions to nearby Victoria or the North Shore’s suspension bridge and mountain. The tour concludes with a flight home from Vancouver.
