About the trip
This ten-night small-group tour with Just You takes in three of Canada’s Maritime provinces, starting in Halifax, Nova Scotia’s capital with its colourful waterfront and the Citadel fortress looking over the harbour. Along the way there’s a visit to Peggy’s Cove, known for its red and white lighthouse perched on granite, before heading to Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail, whose highland views are punctuated by the legacy of Alexander Graham Bell.
The route continues through Prince Edward Island, with stops in Charlottetown – the 'Birthplace of Confederation' – and the national park, where red sandstone cliffs and coastal coves set the scene. New Brunswick follows, including Moncton for the tidal bore, Hopewell Rocks with its extreme tides, and Saint John with a reversing falls where the river changes course with the Bay of Fundy’s tides.
The final day returns to Halifax via ferry and Mahone Bay, a town with a notably eclectic collection of shops and galleries. Throughout, the tour’s pace blends guided walks and local insights, with the odd opportunity to spot whales or enjoy regional seafood lunches.
