About the trip
This seven-night escorted tour with Travelsphere follows the Amalfi Coast during the festive season, beginning in Naples with a transfer to the small village of Minori. Days here vary between sightseeing and leisure, including a morning in Amalfi with its Romanesque cathedral said to hold St Andrew’s remains, and a visit to the celebration of festive pastries at a renowned bakery.
You’ll drive inland to Paestum, where Doric temples stand as reminders of Italy’s Greek heritage, then wander through Salerno’s Christmas market as the city lights up for the season. A full day is reserved for Pompeii, where well-preserved mosaics and ovens offer an intimate glance at Roman life halted by Vesuvius.
Towards the end, the coastline’s steep hills rise above Ravello and a winery perched on terraces offers a tasting and lunch with views. The balance of included outings with free time in Minori allows for both immersion and rest before a return to Naples for the journey home.
