This escorted tour follows a broad sweep through Colombia, starting in the Andean capital of Bogota with the Gold Museum and the Salt Cathedral near Zipaquira. After a pause in the quiet colonial town of Villa de Leyva, the route moves north to the cobbled streets and whitewashed houses of Barichara, where a gentle downhill walk leads to the nearby village of Guane.
The coffee region is next, with a coffee farm stay near Armenia and a walk among towering wax palms in the Cocora Valley. The latter stages bring a long drive to Medellin, the City of Eternal Spring, and trips to the pastel-painted town of Guatape and its enormous rock. The final stop is Cartagena on Colombia's Caribbean coast, where the tour ends with a blend of Afro-Colombian music on a beach and colonial old town streets.
