This sixteen-night escorted tour from Travelsphere begins in Montreal, where French-Canadian character meets grand 17th-century buildings and a grand cathedral that shares its name with its European counterpart. After a day in Quebec City, with its intact city walls and views over the broad St Lawrence River, the tour moves on to Ottawa and Toronto, with time to linger beside the thunder of Niagara Falls.

The holiday then shifts west to the Rocky Mountains, with two days aboard the Rocky Mountaineer train weaving through tunnels and mountain passes, past river canyons and skyline peaks. Banff and Lake Louise offer crystal-clear lakes and mountain trails, while Vancouver’s city sights include Stanley Park and a stroll through the historic streets of Gastown.

On Vancouver Island, the tour takes in Butchart Gardens and the old-world streets of Victoria, before heading back inland to Whistler. Along the way, a treetop walkway with a spiral slide and a visit to the cultural centre celebrating Indigenous communities uncover other sides of this parts of Canada, known sometimes only for its natural views.
