Spectacular Rockies & Vancouver

Travelsphere’s Spectacular Rockies & Vancouver is an 11-night escorted tour beginning in Calgary and winding through some of Canada’s better-known landscapes before finishing in the west coast city of Vancouver. After a day to stretch legs in Calgary and a visit to Banff National Park, the itinerary heads to Lake Louise, a glacial lake ringed by soaring peaks – a good spot for clear, cold air and water of a vivid jade-green hue.

The drive from Banff to Jasper along the Icefields Parkway is one of the more scenic road trips available, with a stop at the Great Columbia Icefield giving time to stand alongside expansive, ancient ice. Jasper itself provides a chance to see rugged mountain lakes, impressive canyon waterfalls and a touch of small-town life, including local beers to toast the day. The journey continues west into British Columbia, where a river safari near Kamloops offers wildlife viewing before crossing to Vancouver Island’s Victoria, with its early-English character and floral displays at Butchart Gardens.

The tour concludes with two days in Vancouver, where the city’s mix of waterside parks, Chinatown and historic Gastown keeps things varied. Optional excursions include whale watching and a North Shore visit with a suspension bridge, cable car and mountain views – a frankly impressive finale to a trip that passes from high mountains to coastal or urban vistas with no rush.
