Walking the Fjords of Southern Norway

Heading inland, the route passes through the Jaeren coastline and along the Hardangerfjord, with stops to admire cascading waterfalls like Langfoss and Latefossen. Walks include the lush Buerdalen Valley with its nearby Buarbreen Glacier and a forested trail to Fyksesund Fjord near Øystese. Alongside the walks, there are visits to places like Utstein Monastery and a wool museum, punctuated by drives through tunnels and ferry crossings, including one on a hydrogen-powered vessel.

The tour finishes in Bergen with a guided walk around its wooden harbour district and a funicular climb for views over the fjords. Evening hikes on the coast west of Bergen give a final chance to see islands scattered like beads across the Atlantic. There is time on the last day to leave at leisure, with luggage storage available for later flights.
