Starting just outside Split, this guided cycling tour follows a coastal route through the Dalmatian region of Croatia. After a gentle loop around Marjan Hill and a stroll through Split’s Roman heart, you’ll catch the ferry to Hvar island, cycling through vineyards and olive groves to the small harbour town of Jelsa.
Journeys
History
The days ahead combine climbs through lavender fields and rocky ascents with coastal rides and swims. On Korcula island, there’s time on foot to take in marble streets and local wine, before cycling to sandy beaches and quieter villages. The final rides cross from islands to the Peljesac Peninsula’s vineyards, then along olive groves to Dubrovnik’s Lapad Bay, with time in the afternoon to explore the old town or visit the fort above.
The tour’s pace reflects the varied terrain: some fairly steep climbs, but support is on hand if needed. There’s a chance to swim in the clear water of the Adriatic more than once, and a wine tasting or two to match the region’s fruitier pleasures. This is a thoughtful, mid-paced way to spend a week cycling the Croatian coast.
