Family Dubrovnik and Croatian Islands Adventure

This week-long tour takes a small group through the Adriatic’s quieter corners, staying on the island of Lopud just a short ferry ride from Dubrovnik. Mornings typically begin with water-based activities: kayaking across inlets to sandy beaches where the local game of Picigin involves juggling a small ball in chest-deep water, or trying out stand-up paddle boarding on calm seas.

There’s a day spent cycling on Sipan, the largest of the Elaphiti Islands, with olive groves and vineyards lining mostly flat tracks. The island’s 14th-century Saint Spirit fort offers views over the countryside. A visit to Dubrovnik’s Old Town features a guided look at its restored city walls and narrow streets, alongside free time for a cable car ride or a wander through the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries.

Evenings include meals at family-run restaurants and a farewell dinner at a local farm on Lopud. The ferry schedule means an early start departure on the final day, but otherwise it’s a laid-back pace filled with familiar Adriatic waters and an informal atmosphere that suits those who want to keep active and still have time to relax.
