Classic Egypt with Nile Cruise

Beginning in Cairo, the tour offers time for a gentle introduction to Egypt’s capital with an evening chance to stroll the medieval market at Khan el Khalili or cross to the Nile promenade. The next day includes the pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and the recently opened Grand Egyptian Museum, home to artefacts such as Tutankhamun’s treasures.

After a night train to Aswan, the itinerary includes the island Philae Temple and an optional visit to the High Dam and unfinished obelisk. There’s also time to browse the Nubian bazaar or join a motorboat trip to a Nubian village for dinner. Following an early excursion to Abu Simbel, three nights are spent on a traditional Nile riverboat cruising north towards Luxor, pausing at temples in Kom Ombo and Edfu.

The final days bring visits to iconic West Bank sites: the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s temple, and the quieter but impressive Habu Temple. A home-cooked lunch with a local family ends the trip before the tour finishes in Luxor, offering time to relax or explore before departure.
