The journey continues by boat through Tortuguero’s narrow canals, known for green turtles and howler monkeys, before cruising west to Arenal Volcano. Here, three days include hiking the park’s volcanic slopes and searching for toucans, frogs, and sloths on private wildlife trails. After crossing to Monteverde, a walk among hanging bridges reveals some of the cloud forest’s often elusive creatures, while night walks add the chance to encounter nocturnal species.

Finally, the tour reaches the Pacific Coast with time beside the ocean at Dominical and a day trip into Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula. Once deep in this dense rainforest, the variety of mammals and birds is impressive, though spotting a jaguar remains a rare stroke of luck. The trip ends with a slow wind-down on the coast before a four-hour transfer back to San Jose for the flight home.

These are the places the trip visits, in order. Explore Worldwide publishes the day-by-day itinerary on its own site.
