Moving inland, the tour visits the hilltop Roman city of Djemila with its extensive mosaics, and then Timgad, where the eclipse will be viewed amid straight Roman streets and arches, a rare chance to sit quietly beneath the sky and millennia of history. Afterwards, the itinerary continues to Constantine, known for its dramatic bridges spanning deep ravines, and finishes on the coastal city of Annaba, where Roman ruins and a large basilica overlook the Mediterranean.
