About the trip

This eight-night cruise on Fred. Olsen’s Bolette sets off from Newcastle for a steady passage along some of Norway’s lesser-travelled fjord coasts. Early calls include Ulvik in the Hardangerfjord, where steep slopes meet quiet water, and Skjolden, on the Sognefjord’s innermost arms. From the deck you’ll pass the Lustrafjord and Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway.

The vessel visits Olden, gateway to dramatic views from the Loen Skylift cable car, before continuing to Molde. The journey from here to Bergen crosses the Atlantic Ocean Road, a stretch of road between islands known for its curved bridges and wind-swept sea. At Bergen the cruise finishes after an eight-day loop back to Newcastle.

Small enough to slip into narrow fjords, Bolette allows more close-up cruising than usual. The early season colours means the hillsides often look painted by autumn itself. There is plenty of time at sea between fjords to sit back and watch the shoreline shift quietly by.
