Journeys
Twelve days on Ambassador’s Ambience sailing between Celtic coasts and islands, from London Tilbury to the Shetland Isles and back, calling at Brest, the Scilly Isles, Cork and the Scottish Hebrides.
This cruise traces a route through the Celtic fringes and coastal communities of the British Isles, beginning and ending at London Tilbury. After crossing the Channel to Brest, the route takes you offshore to St Mary’s, the largest of the Isles of Scilly, where the Atlantic livens the beaches and walking paths. Cobh, the last port of call on Ireland’s south coast, offers glimpses of Georgian squares and the memorials to emigration.
Ambassador’s Ambience then crosses the Irish Sea with stops in Holyhead and the Isle of Anglesey before calling at Belfast, the city once synonymous with shipbuilding. Further north, the ship visits Tobermory and the Isle of Mull, revealing the rugged landscapes familiar to whisky drinkers, before making for Lerwick and the Shetland Isles with their Norse heritage and wide horizons.
The final calls at Invergordon, gateway to the Scottish Highlands, and the return to London complete a cruise that is leisurely without being slow. The ship is small enough to navigate these varied waters with ease, inviting passengers to knock about quietly or stretch the legs ashore — whichever suits best on this coastal tour.
