About the trip

Set sail from Portsmouth for a route that moves steadily north and west into Norway’s fjord country. Haugesund, a coastal town known for its connection to early Norse history, is the first port after crossing the North Sea. The following day brings Flam, a village tucked beneath steep mountain slopes and famous for the nearby Flåm railway.

Between Flam and Molde, the Ambition threads the ship through the Sognefjord and Aurlandsfjord, where the sound of waterfalls is often audible from deck. Molde offers views of surrounding peaks, sometimes called the ‘Town of Roses’ for its unexpectedly mild climate and gardens. Then comes Andalsnes, overlooked by towering mountains and near the famous Rampestreken viewpoint, before the cruise slips through the Romsdalsfjord.
