Springtime Fjords, Mountains & Glaciers

This eleven-night cruise aboard Ambassador Cruise Line's Ambience sets out from London Tilbury, pointing north to Norway’s fjordland. The first calls include Eidfjord, a small village tucked beneath the Hardangervidda plateau, then Bergen, where wooden hanseatic warehouses line the waterfront. Sailing the Hardangerfjord offers views of sheer cliffs and waterfalls that fall close enough to be heard from the deck.

Further north, the ship calls at Olden at the mouth of Nordfjord, a place known for farms stretching down to the water. Geiranger comes next, with its collection of steep waterfalls like the Seven Sisters tumbling into a narrow fjord. Ålesund, distinctive for its Art Nouveau architecture, lies on several islands just before Haugesund, a quieter port with maritime trade roots.

Ambience navigates a variety of fjords including the Geirangerfjord, giving a sense of Norway’s deep geological cuts. The return to London Tilbury completes the loop. The pace allows for time to sit quietly on deck or stretch legs ashore without rushing through the landscapes.
