About the trip
This 14-night cruise aboard Fred. Olsen’s Bolette sets off from Newcastle, sailing north to the west coast of Norway and beyond. Calls at Molde and Kristiansund offer a look at the rugged fjord landscape, with the ship also cruising past Torghatten, a mountain with a giant hole through its centre, and the Seven Sisters peaks along the coast.
As the journey continues northwards, the ship crosses the Arctic Circle, marking entry to the land of the midnight sun. Ports include Sortland in the Vesterålen islands and Hammerfest, one of the world’s northernmost towns. The Arctic adventure culminates with two days in Longyearbyen, Svalbard’s main settlement, where barren tundra surrounds coloured wooden houses and reindeer occasionally wander street corners.
