About the trip
This seven-night walking holiday with Explore Worldwide is based at a family-run agriturismo in San Lazzaro, a village perched 650 metres above the Amalfi Coast. Each day sets out on foot: from coastal clifftops and ancient stone stairways to olive groves and chestnut woods. The walks include the Pino Gorge, the medieval town of Ravello with its gardens and churches, plus a descent through lemon groves to Amalfi via Atrani.
There is a trip to Capri, with time to explore the island’s boutiques, gardens and views from cliffside paths. The week ends with the famous Walk of the Gods from Bomerano to Positano, taking in panoramic views of the Bay of Salerno. Between walks, there is time to relax with local organic wine and farm-to-table food at the agriturismo, which has just 11 rooms.
This tour balances good walking days with a free day that allows for an optional visit to the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Transfers to and from Naples airport are included, with private vehicles used to reduce pressure on local bus services. Walking poles are recommended for some of the steeper or rocky sections.
