This 28-night G Adventures small-group trip stitches together the varied landscapes of New Zealand and Australia from the northern tip of New Zealand’s North Island down to its more serene southern stretches, before heading across to Australia’s east coast. Set off from Auckland and delve into Maori culture and outdoor activities such as sea kayaking at Abel Tasman National Park and climbing the gentle hills around Queenstown, a town known for adventure sports.

Cross the Tasman Sea to Australia, where the pace shifts to surf lessons at Spot X and a stay at a surf camp not far from Byron Bay. Along the way, the itinerary includes wildlife encounters like a kangaroo trek and visiting the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. Brisbane marks the journey's end — a city with a subtropical feel where many travellers choose to relax or extend their stay. Nights are mostly spent in multi-share accommodation, giving a glimpse of the local hostel culture often favoured by active travellers.
