Christmas in Stratford-upon-avon

Christmas Day itself is deliberately unhurried, with time for a leisurely breakfast followed by a festive lunch with fellow travellers, then an easy afternoon for reading, strolling or simply lounging. The next day offers a change of scenery with a visit to Warwick Castle, where the battlements and tales of medieval sieges give plenty to mull over.

The tour’s pace suits those who want a quiet holiday with good company, an English market town’s December atmosphere and a festive welcome that includes a cream tea and seasonal dinners. It’s not for anyone seeking a Christmas away from tradition, but offers space to appreciate one of England’s best-known locations in winter light.
