Discover Bali, Flores and Komodo Islands

This small-group tour from Explore Worldwide begins in Bali’s western highlands, where terraced rice paddies, coffee plantations and the sea-bound temple of Tanah Lot set the scene. A visit to a local community project and the ritual at Tirta Empul Temple bring insight into Balinese daily life and spirituality. Then it’s east across Flores, home to volcanic scenery and tribal villages where animist and Catholic traditions intertwine—walks here include villages at the foot of Inerie volcano and the spiderweb rice fields near Cancar.

The tour continues to Flores’s coast at Labuan Bajo, gateway to Komodo National Park. Days are spent walking with rangers in search of Komodo dragons on Rinca and Komodo Islands, climbing the many steps of Padar Island for panoramic views, and snorkelling coral reefs, possibly with manta rays nearby. Nights aboard a simple boat and a final beach stay in Bali keep the pace unhurried.
