About the trip

This 12-night small group tour with Explore Worldwide begins in Santiago, where you’ll walk the Plaza de Armas and ride a funicular above the city before venturing to the colourful hillsides of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar on the coast. After a flight north, the Atacama Desert offers lunar landscapes at Valle de la Luna and flamingos at salt flats, alongside an early morning visit to the smoky El Tatio geysers.

From the arid north, you fly south to the Lake District, where the volcanic cone of Osorno frames walks through rainforest and to thunderous Petrohue Waterfalls. Finally, wild Torres del Paine awaits, with hikes through steppe and glacial lakes, plus a stop at the cave containing ancient paintings.
