This seven-night escorted tour by Explore Worldwide follows the classic Golden Triangle route through northern India’s cultural heart. After arriving in Delhi and a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk’s lanes, the tour sets off for Agra, where the sun rises over the Taj Mahal’s gleaming marble dome. Agra’s Mughal past is further explored at the massive Agra Fort and the delicate Baby Taj.

Next, a visit to Fatehpur Sikri reveals the remains of Akbar’s deserted imperial city, with its multi-storey Panch Mahal and the carved pillar of the Diwan-i-Khas. The calm symmetry of Chand Baori’s stepwell is a striking contrast to the busy bazaars and heritage hotels nearby. The tour ends in Jaipur, the Pink City, with stops at the Jantar Mantar observatory, City Palace, and the hilltop Amber Fort, whose views stretch across the plains. The quieter afternoon leaves room for some of Jaipur’s famous markets or perhaps a local cinema.
Long drives punctuate the schedule, including a six-hour return to Delhi, but heritage stays and guided walks offer a more measured pace than the itinerary suggests. The group moves steadily through three cities whose layers of history beg closer attention, with time at the end to absorb the capital’s atmosphere one last evening.
