India & Nepal: Golden Triangle and the Himalayas

This fifteen-night trip from G Adventures covers a broad sweep of northern India and Nepal, beginning in Delhi with its mix of community-led walks and tucked-away stepwells. The well-known Taj Mahal waits at Agra, where it quietly turns gold in sunset light behind the ramparts of the fort.

Rajasthan offers a more reflective pace, including a boat ride to Ramathra Fort and village life nearby, before Jaipur’s Pink City is explored by rickshaw, led by local women. Crossing into Nepal, you follow trails in the Annapurna foothills, passing Gurung villages with mountain views that include Machapuchhare, and make momos from scratch.

The adventure continues with a boating safari on the Rapti River and jeep safari in Chitwan National Park, as well as stops for wellness and local crafts in Pokhara. Bhaktapur concludes the tour with ancient squares to stroll. Transport includes flights, boats and 4x4s, and the group rarely rises above a dozen travellers. The itinerary allows time to pause, and some days mix cultural moments with a late afternoon yoga or sound bath.
