Journeys: North India Highlights

This seven-night trip with G Adventures takes you through northern India’s remarkable Mughal landmarks and local culture. Starting with a walking tour of Old Delhi led by locals, you’ll get a sense of the city’s relentless energy and layered history. Agra follows, where the Taj Mahal claims all the attention with its gleaming white dome, but nearby the Baby Taj and Agra Fort provide quieter glimpses of the region’s past.

From there the tour visits Fatehpur Sikri with its grand Mughal palaces and then to Rajasthan’s pink city, Jaipur. Here, the crowd mellows into wandering among pink-hued palaces and fortifications, including the Amber Fort perched above the town. The itinerary rounds off with a night in a traditional desert heritage village, a reminder of the quieter, rural India most travellers rarely see.

Travel is by air-conditioned vehicles with several moments to meet locals, including time with women drivers at the airport and a block-printing workshop. The trip has room for up to sixteen, a shared accommodation style and a few meals included, leaving room to try local eateries and set your own pace for food and shopping.
