About the trip
This 15-day G Adventures small-group tour cuts across Kenya and Uganda by overland adventure vehicle, offering close encounters with some of Africa's best-known wildlife. After joining the group in Nairobi, the real action begins in Masai Mara National Reserve where you’ll track the "big five" species by private 4x4 safari vans, complete with pop-up roofs for unobstructed views.
Beyond the savannah, the itinerary takes you to Kalinzu Forest for a walk guided by trackers searching for chimpanzees. The journey continues into Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where a local mountain guide and armed guards lead the trek through thick rainforest to find mountain gorillas, permitted and protected by Uganda’s national parks authority. Camping most nights, you'll quickly realise that spotting wildlife is only part of the experience; evenings under canvas provide their own rhythm.
