About the trip

This G Adventures small-group holiday marries the rigours of a week-long trek up Kilimanjaro’s Lemosho Route with a five-day safari across Tanzania’s most renowned wildlife reserves. The Lemosho route begins in rainforest and moves through several climate zones, culminating near the summit where the air thins sharply. Camp sites are basic alpine camps, and porters carry your gear, pitching tents and preparing meals.

After Kilimanjaro, the journey continues by private transfer to Arusha, where you meet up with a larger safari group. Here, the trip swings into the Serengeti, where days are spent in 4x4s scouring the savannah for the big five and other wildlife. Stops include the Maasai village for a local lunch and the vast Ngorongoro Crater with its impressive concentration of animals.
