About the trip

This six-night escorted tour takes you through some of the American Southwest's most recognisable landscapes, led by G Adventures. Begin with hikes amid the towering cliffs of Zion National Park, then navigate the zigzagging trails of Bryce Canyon’s distinctive hoodoos. The itinerary includes a visit to Horseshoe Bend before arriving at the Grand Canyon's South Rim, where the immense scale of the canyon unfolds in every direction.

The journey continues with a drive along Route 66, a stretch of road long associated with American road trips, before camping near Joshua Tree National Park. It finally concludes with some free time in Santa Monica, a Californian beach town where the constant rhythm of crashing Pacific waves is punctuated by the occasional rollerblade or bicycle passing along the pier. Travellers can expect a good deal of walking and hiking, with included entrance fees, group camping, and the company of an experienced local leader to keep things moving.
