About the trip

This extension begins with a transfer from either Bangkok airport or city hotels to the coastal town of Rayong, a trip that usually takes around three hours, traffic permitting. From there, a half-hour ferry crosses to Koh Samet, where the Sai Kaew Beach Resort places you right on the sand of its liveliest beach. The remainder of the day is free to settle in or choose between a quiet evening or some local nightlife.

With two full days left to explore at your own pace, you might hire a bike to cycle through the island’s interior or snorkel among coral reefs and tropical fish. For a fuller day out, there is an optional snorkelling boat tour visiting several nearby islands, including Koh Kham and Koh Krauy, with beaches that are notably less developed.

On the final morning, you return by ferry and road to Bangkok, with an arrival time suited to onward flights booked after mid-afternoon. This extension is not escorted and does not join other Explore groups, offering a quiet interlude rather than a guided experience.
