Southern Africa Northbound: Dunes, Deltas & Falls

This G Adventures small-group tour covers some of southwestern Africa's varied landscapes over twenty nights. Starting from southern Namibia's Fish River Canyon and the stark Sossusvlei dunes, the route crosses to Swakopmund on the Atlantic coast. Here, shared dormitory-style accommodation offers a respite from camping. The journey continues north to Etosha National Park for open-vehicle wildlife drives, before heading northeast through Botswana to the Okavango Delta for a two-night bush camping experience with mokoro excursions in traditional dugout canoes.

The tour proceeds to Chobe National Park where river cruises and safari drives offer further wildlife views, then crosses into Zimbabwe to visit the thunderous Victoria Falls, complete with entrance fees included. Throughout, travel is in a custom safari truck named the Lando, with enthusiastic local guides balancing the demands of long drives over varying road conditions. Camping equipment is supplied with basic facilities, making this an active but accessible trip that shines a light on both natural and cultural aspects of the region.
