Upgraded - Discover Morocco

A relaxed small group tour from Explore Worldwide tracing Morocco’s imperial cities, blue-washed alleys of Chefchaouen, and starry desert nights near Marrakech.

Highlights

What makes this one worth it

Hassan Tower and Kasbah des Oudaias in Rabat
Blue-washed medina and artisan stalls of Chefchaouen
Roman mosaics and vineyard wine tasting near Volubilis
Chouara Tannery and Fes el-Bali medina in Fes
Dinner and stargazing in the Agafay Desert

About the trip

This upgraded small-group tour with Explore Worldwide begins in Rabat, Morocco’s political capital, where new town boulevards meet the craft-filled old medina. After a five-hour drive through the Rif Mountains, you arrive in Chefchaouen, the famously blue town set against the Rif peaks, with narrow streets that hint at Andalusian influence and a local home-cooked lunch.

Following a guided visit to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the trip moves to Fes. Here, the medina reveals a hive of artisans, from the leather-dyed pits of the Chouara Tannery to crowded marketplaces where spices scent the air. The tour then winds through the Middle Atlas Mountains before reaching a tranquil lakeside hotel at Bin El-Ouidane. A day trip to the Ouzoud Waterfalls precedes the arrival in Marrakech, with its noisy souks and the Jemaa el-Fna square. The final evening is spent in the Agafay Desert, where dinner under stars is paired with telescope-guided constellation spotting.
