Upgraded - Highlights of Northern India

This nine-night escorted tour from Explore Worldwide threads through Delhi, Agra, the Chambal Sanctuary and Jaipur, mixing busy city streets with quieter wildlife spots and historical landmarks. It opens with Old Delhi’s tangled alleys and a vegetarian street food tasting led by young guides who once lived on these streets themselves. The pace lets you take in contrasts, such as Humayun’s Tomb’s calm lawns after the city’s buzz.

Agra’s early start is awarded with a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, followed by the intricate 'Baby Taj' and the vast ramparts of Agra Fort. Then the route veers off to Dholpur, where the Chambal River reveals gharials and crocodiles from small boats, and a jeep ride tracks the rocky ravines once favoured by bandits.

After a long drive to Jaipur, the so-called Pink City, you find hilltop Amber Fort and a relaxed heritage walk, plus time for independent wandering. The trip includes stays in former palaces, including a 300-year-old home in Shahpura, where folk dancers perform after dinner. The final day returns to Delhi for a last easy afternoon before departure.
