About the trip
This thirteen-night tour with Explore Worldwide begins in Buenos Aires, where eclectic architecture and the tangos of La Boca introduce Argentina’s cultural heart. A local bus and walking tour around the Plaza de Mayo and San Telmo adds layers to the city’s busy streets and history.
After flying south to Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city, time is spent navigating the Beagle Channel and trekking through Tierra del Fuego National Park, a forested space of lenga and guindo trees under looming mountain peaks. The journey then crosses to Chile, passing through Punta Arenas before reaching Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine National Park, where hikes range from shorter walks to a full day’s climb with views of the Paine Massif’s granite spires.
The final days bring visits to the Perito Moreno Glacier and the town of Chalten, gateway to the Fitz Roy massif. Here, long and challenging hikes or more relaxed trails accommodate different paces. The tour closes back in Buenos Aires, with options for an evening tango show, a nod to the beginning of the adventure.
