East Africa Discovery

This 11-night touring holiday takes you across East Africa, beginning with the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Here, the wide plains offer chances to spot the Big Five amid acacia trees and, if timing allows, you might join a visit to a Maasai village to hear local stories. From there, the journey moves to Uganda with a guest farm stay near Kibale National Park, where chimpanzees swing through the canopy nearby, and the Bigodi Swamp, known for its birdlife.

The adventure continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where gentle boat cruises present elephants and hippos by the water’s edge. The trip culminates with protected trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to mountain gorillas, guided by experienced trackers and accompanied by armed guards for safety. Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, provides a concluding visit to the Nyamirambo Women's Centre and the Kigali Genocide Museum, rounding out the mix of natural and cultural insights.
