About the trip

This 50-night small-group tour by G Adventures threads a route through South America’s varied landscapes, beginning in Lima. From there, travellers head inland to the Nazca Desert and its enigmatic lines, then onwards to the Colca Canyon, known for its condors, before taking an overnight bus to Cusco. Here, the itinerary includes a guided trek along the Inca Trail to the perched ancient city of Machu Picchu, approached via the Sun Gate panorama. The journey continues to Lake Titicaca, with a homestay experience offering a window onto traditional life on the water.

Crossing into Bolivia, the salar (salt flats) dominate with their vast, white plains stretching into the horizon. Overnight stays at a community-supported salt lodge provide a distinctive rest stop. Argentina's Buenos Aires offers city walks and time at an estancia in the Pampas.
