This 14-night small group trek with G Adventures begins and ends in Kathmandu, where colourful temples and city squares provide an easy introduction to Nepalese life. After a welcome meeting and a guided tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the journey heads into the mountains.
Over ten days, the group follows a route through rhododendron forests and remote hamlets, staying mostly in tea houses—basic lodges combining guesthouse, restaurant and local social space. Along the way, you’ll cross high passes, catch panoramic views of towering peaks, and meet local shepherds, all supported by expert Sherpas and porters who carry your gear in waterproof bags.
The trek’s pace allows time to acclimatise, though the altitude can be challenging. Meals tend to be traditional Nepali fare, served where electricity is often provided by solar panels or village hydro-power.
