About the trip
This nine-night escorted safari with Explore Worldwide begins in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, where the thunderous falls form an unforgettable backdrop. The tour offers plenty of free time to enjoy the falls’ network of paths or an optional flight or rafting trip on the Zambezi.
From here, the group crosses into Botswana to the Chobe region, known for its large elephant populations. Days include game drives in open-sided vehicles and a slow river cruise, offering contrasting views of hippos, crocodiles and herds of elephant. The itinerary then moves deep into Botswana’s wilderness, wild camping in the Savuti and Moremi reserves, where tents come with open-air bathrooms but no walls between you and the African night.
The final stop is at Island Safari Lodge near Maun on the Thamalakane River, an oasis shaded by mature trees with swimming pools and nature trails. It is a gentle place to reflect on the trip while spotting wildlife on foot before returning home.
