About the trip

This small-group winter tour with G Adventures follows a route through some of Central Europe's most storied cities during the Christmas season. Starting in Berlin, the journey includes an evening welcome meeting and a stroll among stalls in Gendarmenmarkt, where the air warms with spiced Glühwein. A train ride leads to Nuremberg with its medieval market famed for Lebkuchen biscuits.

From there, a private transfer takes you to Munich for independent exploration before another transfer to Salzburg, where local markets just outside the city provide a quieter take on festive fare. The final leg leads to Vienna, passing smaller Christmas markets en route. In Vienna, a guided city walk, coffee and pastry tasting, and a warming mug of mulled wine complement the market visits in the city centre.

Travel involves trains and private vehicles, with walking and free time to take in cafés and streetscapes at one's own pace. The group size is limited to 18, ensuring an intimate experience of holiday scenes in Austria and Germany.
