This nine-night escorted tour with Explore Worldwide begins in Bergen, a city ringed by seven mountains and marked by its wooden houses along the UNESCO-listed Bryggen harbour. After a guided stroll, the route heads inland to Voss, known locally as Norway’s adventure capital, where a 19th-century hotel sits beside a lake framed by rocky peaks.

Next comes a bus and electric boat trip through the Naerofjord and Aurlandsfjord, passing waterfalls and sheer cliffs, followed by a scenic railway journey on the Flåm line and a train to Oslo. The Norwegian capital’s Royal Palace, Opera House and fortress are on the itinerary, before an afternoon ferry to Copenhagen. In Denmark’s city of canals, trips include a harbour boat, the markets at Reffen and a botanical garden visit.

The tour concludes with a train crossing over the Oresund Bridge into Sweden, reaching Stockholm. Here, a guided walk at City Hall reveals the setting for the Nobel banquet, while free time invites visits to the Royal Palace, the Vasa Museum or the streets of Gamla Stan, where caffeine and pastry assume cultural importance.
