About the trip

This nine-night tour with G Adventures covers some of Iceland’s stark and varied landscapes, from the volcanic fields of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula to walking trails near Húsafell. Along the way there’s time to look behind a waterfall at Seljalandsfoss, wander through lava caves, and venture into the ice tunnels of the Langjokull Glacier.

The route also takes in parts of the Golden Circle, with the erupting spouts at Geysir and the broad Gulfoss waterfall, along with Thingvellir National Park where the tectonic plates mark their boundary by a gorge and a waterfall, Öxarárfoss. Reykjavik features at the start and a well-paced schedule allows time to visit a geothermal spa and a bakery powered by underground heat.

With small groups capped at sixteen and local guides, the tour balances an active programme of hiking and exploration with moments of relaxation in natural hot springs.
