About the trip

This four-night tour with G Adventures takes you through some of Iceland’s most memorable scenes during winter. Starting in Reykjavik, you’ll have time to get your bearings in the city's modestly sized centre before heading out to visit the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. At Seljalandsfoss, you can walk behind the cascade, pinned by the steady mist flowing from above.

Further excursions include hiking on glaciers near Sólheimajökull, soaking in the geothermal Secret Lagoon near Fludir, and wandering the tectonic rift valley of Þingvellir National Park. After daylight, a local guide leads walks seeking the Northern Lights while the small group stays in family-run hotels. The itinerary mixes some busy days with moments to pause and watch the steam rising from hot springs or stare at the famously small Icelandic horses on a local farm.
