About the trip
This escorted small-group holiday begins in Moshi, where a careful kit check precedes a trek along the Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro. The ascent takes in varied landscapes, from rainforest where colobus monkeys chatter overhead to lava ridges and moorland, camping each night before tackling the final 14-hour push to Uhuru Peak—the highest spot in Africa. The zig-zagging scree slopes and sections that demand hands-on scrambling ensure no one can call this a gentle stroll.
