About the trip
Starting in Nairobi, the tour moves swiftly north to Arusha before heading west into Serengeti National Park, where pop-up roofs on 4x4s afford views of wildlife that might include the Big Five. The itinerary features camping in the wilderness of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater rim, blending basic facilities with being at the heart of the action. The journey continues east and south to Dar es Salaam, from where a ferry takes the group to Zanzibar. Here, Stone Town demands a stroll, with its intricate alleys halfway between Africa and Arabia, before guests have time to settle into a beach resort at Jambiani or nearby.
