Further days follow clifftop paths near Lagos with views of rock arches at Ponta da Piedade, and the dramatic Rota Vicentina trail to Cabo São Vicente, Europe’s south-westernmost point. The geological formations here—folded rocks, sea stacks and arches—reveal millions of years of natural history. On the way back, there is time to sample the local fish stew called Cataplana, or alternatives if fish isn’t your preference.

The latter part of the tour includes walking between Aljezur’s old Moorish quarter and the surfer beaches at Praia da Arrifana, finishing with a stroll along unspoilt coastline back to Sagres. The pace ranges from leisurely to moderate walks, with taxis providing transport between trailheads. Evenings are left relaxed, letting you enjoy fresh seafood and crisp regional wines in snug local restaurants.
