About the trip

This five-night tour begins and ends in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit. Over the course of the trip, you travel through Tarangire National Park, known for its towering termite mounds and large elephant herds — a regular gathering place for wildlife.

A highlight is the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world's largest intact calderas, home to a dense population of animals set against a surprising variety of vegetation. You'll also spend time in the vast Serengeti National Park, where wide-open plains host everything from hunting lions to stampeding wildebeest, with game drives commencing as the sun rises and sometimes stretching to sunset.

Led by a certified safari guide for a small group, the holiday includes visits to local communities and coffee plantations, offering insight beyond the wildlife. Accommodation is basic but comfortable, including tents with en suite facilities. Transport is in 4x4 Land Cruiser vehicles designed with pop-up roofs to enhance wildlife viewing. Lengthy, bumpy drives are to be expected but paired with memorable scenery and wildlife spectacles.
