About the trip

This 13-night escorted tour from Travelsphere begins in Santiago, Chile, where the city rests under the Andes with evening views from San Cristobal Hill and a visit to the Presidential Palace. An optional excursion passes coastal Valparaiso, with its Victorian piers and brightly coloured houses.

A road trip over the Andes leads into Mendoza, Argentina, with the highest mountain in the Americas looming nearby. Mendoza itself is leafy, with plenty of open space to explore at leisure after a morning tour. A flight takes the group to Buenos Aires, where there's time to wander past the Casa Rosada and through the La Boca district before wandering the cemetery where Eva Perón is buried.

Further flights take travellers to Iguaçu Falls on the Argentinian side, with jungle trails and the roar of 275 separate waterfalls, including the Devil’s Gorge. The final stop is Rio de Janeiro, surrounded by Sugarloaf Mountain and famous beaches; the group travels by cog railway to the Christ the Redeemer statue and will enjoy a Brazilian barbecue before heading home.
