This five-night trip with G Adventures starts with an orientation walk in Kotor, a medieval town whose fortifications cling to the steep hillsides overlooking the Bay of Kotor. A boat trip across the bay leads to Perast, notable for its baroque architecture and waterfront views. After some time in the coastal towns, the tour moves inland to eco-lodges in the mountainous regions, where a mix of 4x4 off-road excursions and walks reveal the rugged landscapes and rivers.

A day is spent in Biogradska Gora National Park, one of Europe's last remaining rainforests, showcasing forested glades and a glacial lake — a change of pace from the coastal scene. The itinerary includes an occasional orientation walk in Podgorica, Montenegro's capital, where the medieval layout still influences the street plan. Transport between locations is by private bus, boat and 4x4, matching the diverse terrain. Meals are partially included, leaving space to choose local eateries.

G Adventures offers a small-group experience here, led by a Chief Experience Officer who assists with the practicalities rather than providing a detailed historical narration. With a maximum of 16 travellers, the pace allows for some freedom while covering key highlights.
