About the trip
This 15-day small group tour with G Adventures follows a roughly circular route through some of Indonesia’s most visited islands, mixing activity, culture and beach time. The trip begins in Bali with a surf lesson in Canggu, followed by a sunrise hike up Mount Batur and a soak in local hot springs.
After Bali, the group heads east to Lombok to cycle through rice terraces, visit traditional weaving villages where handlooms still clatter, and spend time in local villages such as Bulian. The pace slows further as the tour reaches Gili Trawangan, where sandal straps often replace shoes and snorkelling with manta rays is on offer alongside coral path cycling.
The final night is spent back in Bali’s Seminyak, a place better known for bars and sunsets than tranquillity, giving a chance to toast the Indonesian loop completed. The tour blends active days with moments for local culture and free time, and relies on local guesthouses, homestays and camping for accommodation that can feel a little less polished than the international hotels dotted around these islands.
