About the trip

G Adventures leads this seven-night small-group tour through Jordan, starting in the north with a guided visit to Jerash, home to one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns. The journey continues to Dead Sea resorts where floating in the heavy saltwater and smearing therapeutic mud offer a pause from sightseeing.

A highlight is Petra, the ancient Nabatean city carved into rose-red cliffs. Its so-called thrilling beauty includes the narrow Siq leading to the Treasury, alongside vast colonnaded streets and royal tombs. Nearby, Madaba hosts detailed mosaics and Mt Nebo provides sweeping views said to be where Moses glimpsed the Promised Land.

The tour also takes in Karak Castle, a Crusader stronghold, before crossing desert landscapes to Wadi Rum. Here, an overnight in a Bedouin camp follows a 4x4 tour across the dramatic sands. Finally, a stop at the Red Sea rounds out the trip. The pace balances sightseeing with time to absorb Jordan’s blend of history and landscapes, guided by knowledgeable locals and a G Adventures CEO.
